Safari Party Snake

Crank the Bob Seger. Particularily ‘Nite Moves’.

Night one we played with stellar Dj, Kamloops resident, canoe aficionado and all around superdude Trevor Seaby *aka SGT. SEABY* at a joint called Charlie’s Tap House in Kamloops. This was tons and tons of funs and funs. There was a life size statue of Jack Daniels (who looks surprisingly like Colonel Sanders) who had been cut down to size. Quality moustache.

We recovered a pal from the ferry and headed out. Paul didn’t bring a sleeping bag, so a stop was required (inexplicably) at Zellers. He’s now the proud owner of a 5 degree bag. Somebody told me it was – 7 in Calgary yesterday (in May?) .

Kamloops is here / here we are Kamloops.

So you think you can dance. Good people in Kamloops getting down with us.

“Do you like to Party?”

“Do you like to get bitten by Snakes?”

As we were driving through the Rockies the Safari began to show signs of strain. We need to lose some weight to combat the evil effects of gravity. Everything heavy is necessary. I put Julian, Paul and Scott on a mandatory diet immediately, but I don’t know how long I can control their outrageous eating habits. I’d trade my right eyebrow for a sandwich right now, preferably something with relish. It snowed a lot as we crossed, but it did not cause us problems.

Night 2 we played at the Marquee Room in Calgary with our touring partners This City Defects, as well as Hunter / Gatherer and Extra Happy Ghost. This was a great deal of fun and we ended up crashing at Matt's (TCD drummer) place. He had a taxidermied cobra, which I felt was an important development and I took it to be an excellent sign.

This morning we decided to do something for Nic L'Beige (the Safari). Relying entirely on the directions of "V" (our sweet talking, soothing voiced GPS), we made it to an automotive service station. There a gentleman named Omar completely sorted us out for an incredibly awesome price, this - in combination with the stuffed cobra - has made us all feel like a million dollars. Split four ways.

Now we sit in an internet cafe, preparing for the departure to Edmonton and the third show of 23!

huzzah.
