So, we're leaving for tour in a little under a week and are all extremely excited! Shows are coming together across the country, posters have been made and no major snags have presented themselves as of yet. Everything seems to be going according to plan for the shows outside of Vancouver. You can check out the tour schedule on our myspace link.
There has been a lot of rushing around for the tour kick-off show this Friday (30th). The long story told in a short manner is that we had a gig booked at a venue we all like, bands had been contacted and confirmed, our touring pals This City Defects were set to come out from Calgary and the sun shone on the earth with enduring love. Then, while pursuing the internet, I discovered that something else was being promoted at the Biltmore for the same night as our kick-off. Promoters were contacted and it ended up that the night had been double booked. We lost the gig and were left without a show in our lovable hometown 2 weeks prior to the 6000 km playcation.
After some rapid fire scavenging we booked the 30th at 917 Main Street, the former Cobalt, and were able to book local acts the Armadilettantes and ARCTIC. Unfortunately, This City Defects won't be in town to join the bill, so we will meet them in Calgary on May 6th.
Bring on tomorrow then, we're ready for some jam kicking out and serious driving. And adding to this blog when I have a stable connection to the internet. And plenty of breakfast bagels...
